Looking for the Bright Spots

 Gosh, the world can be feeling quite overwhelming at the moment, can't it. Especially when we might be feeling helpless at not being able to do anything, and hopeless that everything is getting out of control.  

But music is a great escape, isn't it? Whether you're making it, practicing it, learning it, performing it, or just enjoying it! It can lift our hearts, stir our memories, make us feel joyful, wistful, sad, or hopeful. Any way you're engaged with it, music will affect our mood.

I wanted to share this little clip with you today ....because I'm so involved in the Wetlands Arts Project, I'm spending a lot of time in nature and at the local wetlands. Being there always lightens my mood, makes me feel happy. I hope this little clip does the same for you.  (The music is Dancing in the Light from the Luminous album which is NOT on the Bandcamp page.  However, there are some lovely tracks on the first wetlands album "Song of the Wetlands" which IS on Bandcamp and when you listen to Feathered Promenade on that album, the clip below will make perfect sense.)

Sounds, Sights & Textures

CONNECTING THE HUNTER WETLANDS TO MUSIC AND FIBRES 

It's no exaggeration to say that the opening of this exhibition was simply a triumph! 

Spilling out on to the footpath, on a balmy summer evening, the Timeless Textiles Gallery was packed like it’s never been packed out before. Guests were treated to some delicious wine and canapes, lovely live music, and simply OUTSTANDING artworks! The Artists have done an incredible job interpreting the music from the "Song of the Wetlands" album. 

Here is the link for you to see the pieces and listen to the song that inspired each; THE EXHIBITION  but I strongly encourage you to get in to the gallery before it finishes ....there's real magic in seeing the works LIVE ...closing on the 11th Feb.

A smaller exhibition will move to the Hunter Wetlands, Shortland, in April but being a smaller space, it cannot accommodate the larger pieces in the collection.

Officially Launched!

Song of the Wetlands - the 11th album, and the culmination of a 15month Arts/Music project  - has officially set sail at a very lovely, and cruisy event yesterday, Sunday 10th December.

Counting down now as we head to the Launch of "Song of the Wetlands" - phase one of the Sounds, Sights and Textures Arts/Music project which began in September 2022. 

The album is in the final stages of production and it's looking very pretty! Pre-orders are available now via email and will be available for collection at the Launch and for posting or download afterwards.
