The "Woman Loves Jazz" album released in June has received an excellent review in this month's edition of the Trad&Now Magazine [Australia's No.1 Folk, Blues & Roots mag for over 20 years].

Blocking the Writers Block!
So we're just over 12 months along since the pandemic was declared and it's been a tough year for everyone - especially those who work in the Arts.
For me, not only did all my gigs, shows, choruses, concerts, music networks come to a grinding halt in March last year, so did my social networks, incomes, and creativity! My inspiration, imagination, and artistic vision walked out in protest. I was feeling pretty low until I discovered that I was in an enormous lifeboat with a world of artists - and Arts-related workers - all experiencing the same thing.
Fortunately, one of the Music Industry platforms I belong to - an International group which supports independent artists -is proactive in its approach. Eventually it flicked a switch which resonated with me and I took up their "Songwriters Challenge" in March this year.
It worked. I blocked the "Block" and now have a heap of new material I'm working on to produce another album mid year. No CD's though anymore. This album - still under wraps - is going to be produced on USB for easy download to your devices.
I'll be happy to share more about the new music in the next month or so ...stay tuned. And if you haven't joined me yet on Facebook, I encourage you to send a friend request ...it's where I'm most active with news, updates, and events. #note tho'...I tend only to 'friend' people that I know, or have met. So if we haven't met yet, leave a message with your request and here's your password to let me know you're a genuine friend: Mozmate

Gone Skiing!
If you've been keeping up to date with the Wireless Chronicles, I'll bet you're wondering where the heck I'm going to take Squiffy Naylor and his scrumpy gang next!! But my lips are sealed - except to say that Series 3 is set in the late 40's and is title Armed and Languorous. A whole lot more fun to come. [Check the webpage on this blog to catch episode 1 of April's show]
The new album is almost finished in the studio and we're about to begin on the artwork - under the expertise of the very talented and artistic Gary Roberts . As yet I don't have a title for the 10-track CD and if you've got a creative suggestion, I'd love to hear it. This one has 6 Original tracks, 3 old classic blues numbers [a tribute to 3 of my favourite Black Female Blues artists], and a traditional Irish hymn. Join the mailing list if you'd like an invitation to the launch.
There's a swag of new music video's on my YouTube channel if you haven't dropped in there lately, why not check it out soon ... https://www.youtube.com/user/mozluminous ....There's a whole lot more planned - just need a few more hours in the day.
Oh, and if you missed the Drench and Launders show in June/July - there's a couple of the fun videos on the page [this blog] for a few laughs. Will add some more during the downhill run.
For now, I'm off to find my ski's!

Cruisin' into silly season
If you're working or living in the Newcastle city and surrounds I've got a great idea for a November Hump Day .... Wednesday 18th Nov ....from 6-9 ...I'm doing a cruisy duo with the oh-so-fabulous Master guitarist Steve Cowley. What a great way to wind down after a mid-week working day, chill out with a couple of drinks, enjoy some delicious food, and kick back to some fabulous music...someone else does the dishes and you can groove home for an early night of peaceful slumber.
We're doing an evening of "through the cracks" - some songs that I DIDN'T get to play this year [oh, well ok ...and a couple of favourites that I didn't get to play enough!] Some rare pieces, and plenty of Originals [cos I've been so busy playing covers this year that I haven't played my own music since - FOREVER!] ... and some delicious instrumentals from Steve - cos he doesn't get to play his favourite pieces much either!
So, if you've been to any of my shows at The Dungeon this year, you're likely to have seen/heard Steve playing and undoubtedly have been blown away by one of Newcastle's best kept secrets. shhhhhh ...if the rest of the country finds out I may never get to play with him again! I don't often get the chance to duo with Steve so this is a rare treat - you AND I - are going to enjoy.
We're playing at the new FogHorn Brewhouse at 218 King Street Newcastle ....there's no cover charge, the beer I'm told is amazing and so much variety, the food is getting the thumbs-up all 'round ... and you KNOW the music is going to be just up your street! Again, its Wednesday 18th November at 6pm
Join us, why don't you? No reason to say no.
